Join Me At The Glasgow Wedding Collective on 1st September And Grab A Signed Copy Of My Book

Hey there weekend lovers! I didn't want to let this weekend pass by without me telling you all about the stupendously*brilliant* event that is The Glasgow Wedding Collective - basically, a super-cool, refreshing alternative to the ‘traditional’ wedding exhibition that is being held on 1st September from 11am to 5pm at The Lighthouse, just off Buchanan St in Glasgow.
The Glasgow Wedding Collective I always wanted to get involved, and really get out there when it came to promting my book, Style Me Vintage: Weddings. I wanted to meet the real brides and people that help make Love My Dress such a huge success. Exhibiting at a handful of carefully considered and selected wedding fairs means that I'm reaching out to those readers who truly represent the heart and essence of not only my blog, but my beautiful book too. And after spending most of last summer holed away writing my book, meeting people, exhibiting and doing book signings is something I'm absolutely relishing right now. It's wonderful to now be able to get out there and really celebrate the book. So, what about this event, and why am I getting involved? Caro-weiss

The Glasgow Wedding Collective showcases all that’s good and unique in the industry and gives brides a chance to create a day in their own individual style.' Read More.... How they met

“I felt a bit giddy actually – I was a bit tipsy in our local wine bar!” remembers Emma. “We went out on a (sober!) date a week after we first met. That was seven years ago now,” remembers Emma.

The proposal

“It was Christmas day 2010 – my favourite time of year,” recalls Emma. “We always like to keep one big present each to open last, and when I got around to opening mine I turned round to see Ciaran down on one knee in front of the Christmas tree! It was so magical and beautiful, with the twinkling lights in the background and the Champagne already open,” she smiles. That sounds just about perfect to us!

The bride’s outfit

“I had no idea a wedding dress could make you feel so special – but I felt INCREDIBLE!” beams our very excitable bride. “It was a very magical moment, and I was so glad I had my mum with me to share the experience,” she adds. Her stunning strapless gown was ‘Dabra D’ in the Blue by Enzoani collection.

The groom’s outfit

Ciaran hired his grey morning suit from Mia Sposa in Birmingham and looked every inch the classic groom – choose this look for your man if you want a timeless look in your photos. daffodilwaves.co.uk Packington-Moor-Daffodil-Waves-Photography-Emma-&-Ciaran126

The bridesmaids

Emma was joined down the aisle by three gorgeous bridesmaids and four oh-so-cute flowergirls. Their outfits all came from Bride and Groom in Bromley. We love the fact that she chose different necklines to flatter her girls’ figures, too – top marks!Silver bridesmaid dresses and purple bridesmaid dresses ..... Read More.....

How to choose and deliver the perfect wedding reading

by Sophie Grabham via Wedding Ideas
If you’re planning on celebrating your love with a heartfelt extract or poem, we’ve got 10 top tips that will help you pick the best reading piece suitable for you and your big day.

Personal to you

Try to choose a reading that sums you up as a couple. Think about something that talks about a subject that is close to your heart. Subjects such as true love, family and never giving up are good places to start. wedding reading mariadefaci

Is it appropriate?

Check with your officiant when choosing your readings, especially if you’re having a civil ceremony. Wedding readings at civil ceremonies cannot include any religious references whatsoever. This is by no means restrictive, though. Think about all the other ideas you could have – song lyrics from your favourite tune, love poems and more.

It’s all about the delivery

When you’re choosing your reader, pick someone who will speak clearly and confidently. Make sure they practice it a few times in front of an audience before the big day so they can get their confidence. Almost learning a piece off by heart is a good thing to do as well as it will stop the reader looking down so often. If a youngster is doing a reading, make sure they are confident and happy with the piece and that there are no long, difficult words. Read More....
